Mobile Post Offices are operational in Bombay, Calcutta, Delhi, Madras, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kanpur, Poona, Jaipur and Bhilai Industrial Township. These mobile post offices are intended for provide the ability to post late in different areas of cities at different times according to a pre-established program (excluding policyholders and V.P.) “These offices remain closed on Sundays and public holidays. "The mobile post office sells postage stamps and post offices stationery, certificate of grant of posting, book surface and airmail registered items of mail (excluding policyholders and V.P.) and air parcels as well as accepting unregistered mail items for shipping. The mobile post offices in Madras and Nagpur are also allowed to book postal orders.
